Caitlin Bennett is a Brisbane fashion designer and the founder of Sundholm Style. After working in fashion styling, writing and education she has launched her brand with the purpose of enabling women to effortlessly celebrate their natural beauty. Her vision is to build a sustainable fashion brand that is well styled, accessible and appealing.
“I have always sought to celebrate and create beauty, a desire which has led me to create my fashion label ILMA by Sundholm Style. ILMA is a Finnish word that translates to air and the name Sundholm is a celebration of my mother who showed immense strength of spirit throughout her lifetime. Her modest elegance and grace inspire me every day and I design for women just like her. The ILMA woman is strong with a tender heart. She is a natural beauty who appreciates minimalism, refined simplicity and ease in design.
Growing up in Brisbane, I have also seen the need for versatile womenswear that fits seamlessly into our diverse sun-drenched Australian lifestyle. I hope that each garment has longevity and can become an elegant wardrobe staple that lasts each wearer from season to season. I design and manufacture in Australia to promote ethical industry engagement and reduce the environmental costs of transportation. Each garment is also produced with natural fibres to ensure that it will be able to degrade back into the earth at the end of its life cycle, rather than ending up in landfill.
I hope you enjoy exploring my collections which are lovingly designed and made to last.”
